MARUDI: Narcotic police here arrested a local man on suspicion of possessing drugs worth over RM300 yesterday.
Marudi OCPD DSP Mohd Ruslan Mat Kib said, in a statement, that the suspect in his 50s, had been involved in substance abuse activities since 2019.
“The team detained the suspect around 9.30 pm by the roadside of Beluru-Long Teru, Lapok Tinjar, Baram.
“Inspections found a plastic package and two plastic packets containing drugs believed to be syabu. The drugs, weighing 3.70g, have a street value of RM370,” he said.
Ruslan added that the suspect was currently being remanded in the Marudi police lock-up to facilitate investigation.
The case is being investigated under Section 12 (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
