KUCHING: Members of the public are encouraged to donate to the needy by purchasing artworks from artists through the Art for Heart (A4H) charity platform.

Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang said all proceeds from the sales will be used to support and assist the needy in the community.

“Every sen of proceeds will go to charity for a good cause, as well as to those who need it the most, such as the sick and the less fortunate,” he assured at the launch of Art for Heart Charity Platform at his Batu Kitang Service Centre on Friday (Oct 8).

Lo who is also Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman disclosed that he has encountered many people in need, some of whom require more assistance than the others.

“In addition to those who need major operations and are generally sick and bedridden, there were many others who required simple items such as hearing aid, patient beds, and wheelchairs.

“We have a variety of places to donate depending on the amount raised. We won’t just throw in money because we need to figure out what we are doing first, we need to know what the public wants us to do, and then we will work with our donors and members to make it happen.

“Since this is the beginning of the charity platform, we will shortly set up a committee to determine who is eligible for aid,” he stated.

Lo expressed his hope that the charity platform would gather even more artists, including those with talents to create things that would be sold to the public for a good course.

“This is a platform for charity, and since we have started this platform, I am confident that we will be able to do much more in the name of charity.

“I will also keep everyone updated on who we have chosen to assist and how their situation is progressing as I will utilise all of the resources available to assist these folks. I wish all of us every success,” he added.
