Asean Song Contest winner to perform at Semadang fest

Rosario will perform at the 5th Semadang International Tagang Festival.

KUCHING: Asean Song Contest 2019 champion Rosario Ninih Chamini Bianis will perform at the fifth edition of the Semadang International Tagang Festival at Kampung Semadang, Jalan Puncak Borneo near here.

Sabahan Rosario, who won the Bintang RTM 2016, had on July 29 this year won the Asean Song Contest 2019 in Vietnam.

She will sing five songs  including her own Semua Sudah Terjadi and Celine Dion’s That’s The Way It Is, Beyonce’s Listen and Jaclyn Victor’s Sebelah Jiwaku. She will also perform a duet Anak Kampung.

Rosario said she was excited to perform at the festival, which is also her first appearance in Sarawak. “I will make sure I give my best performance.” 

Rosario will perform at the 5th Semadang International Tagang Festival.

Rosario will be accompanied by a band, Megaforce, famous for their song Bubga Kupuo.

Meanwhile, festival chairman Samson Mangang said 12 beauties had qualified for the Miss Tagang 2019 beauty pageant final to be held on the same evening and at the same venue.

According to Samson, in conjunction with the three-day festival, various activities will be held, including fishing competitions which will include participants from overseas, cultural and traditional dance competitions, music and dance, cooking competitions, talks on river cleanliness, games, colouring competitions, zumba dance as well as food and beverage sales.

He said for this year’s festival, the organisers also partnered with the Regional Centre of Expertise Kuching to hold a river cleanliness campaign. He said the briefing would be attended by village leaders, villagers and students.

The festival is coorganised by Kampung Semadang Tagang Systems Committee and the Department of Agriculture with support from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Sarawak and the Ministry of Transportation.
