Sarawak Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar taking the oath of office as the acting Head of State. The appointment takes effect today until January 11, next year.
The swearing-in ceremony at the Astana Negeri in Petra Jaya was witnessed by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg (seated left). Earlier, Asfia signed the oath of office documents before Kuching High Court Judge Datuk Lee Heng Cheong (seated right).
The swearing-in ceremony ended with a prayer recitation by state Imam Sahibul Fadilah Mustapha Kamal Ahmad Fauzi.
Also present were Asfia’s wife Datin Amar Fatimah Mohd Iskandar and wife of the chief minister Datin Patinggi Datuk Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang.
