Its president Lina Soo said the only exceptions would be her and party chairman Buln Ribos.

“The new faces are Chan Chee Hiong who will be contesting in Pending, Leong Shaow Tung (Batu Lintang), Tan Kok Chiang (Kota Sentosa), Chong Siew Hung (Mambong), Simon Jangan (Kedup), Jame Nyuking (Bukit Semuja), Wong Chin King (Repok), Ngelayang Unau (Machan), Lau Kiu Ming (Bukit Assek), Josephine Lau Kiew Peng (Dudong), Loh Wui Ping (Pelawan),  Chieng Lea Phing (Tanjong Batu),  Fong Pau Teck (Batu Kawah), Hani Jaraee (Piasau)and Chin Fen Siong (Pujut).

“I will be contesting the Padungan seat while Buln will contest the Serembu seat,” she added.

She said this at a press conference in conjunction with the handing over of letters of authorisation to the party candidates here on Monday (Nov 29).

“In this election, our party will be focusing more on the rural and semi urban seats. Having said that, we will try to go for as many as we can to maximise our seats.

“Nonetheless, if our objective, which is the Sarawak Referendum, is rejected by voters, we will see it as we having not created enough awareness among Sarawakians,” she said.

Aspirasi which was previously known as the State Reform Party (Star) had contested 11 seats in the 11th state election back in 2016 but failed to win any, causing the candidates to lose their deposits.
