KUCHING: The Kuching Hing Ann Association continues to bring yearly cheer by presenting ang pows (red packets) to its elderly members in conjunction with the Chinese New Year (CNY) celebration.

The association’s oldest members – Chua Ah Sai who is 98 years old and Chua Kham Moi, 96, each received a red packet totalling RM1,000 and new year gifts.

Present to hand over the items was the association’s president Micheal Teo at the association’s premises in Jalan Padungan here yesterday (Jan 28).

This time, the association was able to physically present the red packets to the elderly members.

In the last two years, members had to receive their red packets as well as goodies through a drive-thru method in view of the need to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, a total of 252 elderly members also each received their red packets containing RM100 and other goodies.

Also present were the association’s advisors Tay Swee Hock and Lau Boon Hau, executive advisor Tay Swee Kim and vice president Kok Hin Kai.
