SIBU: Sarawak Pan-Chen Lau Clan Association (SPCLCA) recently held its two-day sports carnival at its premises in Jalan Tapang here. The carnival encompassed four events, namely calligraphy, singing, story-telling and drawing contests. Chairman of SPCLCA Albert Lau officiated at the closing ceremony and handing over of prizes to the winners in the respective events on Sunday night.

Apart from fostering ties and friendship among members, the aim of the carnival was also to select the best representative of each event to participate in the 33rd Borneo Pan-Chen Lau Clan Sport Carnival to be held in Miri for three days starting Dec 7.

In his closing remarks, he commended the SPCLCA’s Women and Youth Wings for successfully undertaking the carnival. Such activities, he pointed out, provided not only a form of entertainment or leisure for members but also encouraged them to lead a healthy lifestyle. He hoped the carnival would be held yearly for the benefit of its members.
