MIRI: The Federation of Miri Division Chinese Associations (FCA) has been urged to positively impact the Chinese community through cultural and educational initiatives, as well as to enhance unity among different ethnic groups.

“Sarawak epitomises a multicultural and multireligious society where everyone enjoys a peaceful coexistence, contributing to the state’s prosperous and stable development. This collective effort sets us apart as a model for other states,” said State Transport Minister Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin during the handover of RM500,000 grant from the state government to the FCA for its land tax payments.

Meanwhile, FCA president Datuk David Goh thanked the state government for the financial assistance, which will enable the FCA to acquire land adjacent to its current premises.

The land is located at Lorong 6, Jalan Jee Foh, Krokop.

“To obtain its ownership, the total land tax exceeds RM2 million, payable over five years. Thanks to the state’s support, we are confident of settling this payment ahead of schedule,” said Goh.
