LUBOK ANTU: An attempt to cross the Malaysia-Indonesia border was thwarted by the 11th Battalion Royal Malay Regiment last Thursday (Oct 1).

In a statement issued, a group of seven Indonesians were arrested by an army team who were carrying out “Ops Awas/Keris Parang” at an illegal route about 400 metres from the Malaysia-Indonesia border.

“The Lubok Antu Post Placement chief received information about a group believed to be Indonesians in a suspicious situation in the area.

Items seized from the group last Thursday.

“Result of inspections found that the group comprised five men and two women, did not have any valid travel documents and all were found guilty for cross-border activities,” the regiment said.

The army team also seized four handphones, four motorcycles, and a bag pack that are worth RM26,300.

Both the arrests and seizures were brought to Lubok Antu district police headquarters (IPD) for further actions.
