Awang wins Solid Gym ‘Men of Hammer 2017’ title

SIBU: Awang Mohamad Azizul Ghani from Kuching successfully retained the ‘Men of Hammer 2017’ bodybuilding title after beating eight other contestants in the men’s 70 kg and above category organised by Solid Gym held at Kingwood Hotel here on Saturday night.

The national bodybuilder Awang left Azahar Mahamad (Kuching) and Noel Ting (Sibu) in the first and second places respectively.

In the men’s 70 kg and below category, the title went to Malvern Abdullah (Kuching) while first runner-up was Joseph Ladi (Kuching) as Wilfred Harding (Kuching) finished as the second runner-up winner.

Meanwhile, the closed men’s physique (solid gym) category was won by Allan Lee who also took the men’s physique (above-170 cm) title as Alfie Khan and Leslie Lau were in the first and second places respectively.

First and second runners-up for the men’s physique (above-170 cm) were won by Mohamad Amirul Mukminin Lakim (Brunei) and Alfie Khan (Sibu), respectively.

The men’s physique (below-170 cm) category meanwhile was won by Mohammad Shahrun Nizam Eden of Brunei as Faizal Mustapha (Bintulu) and Faisal Mohammad (Brunei) were in first and second runners-up respectively.

Prizes were presented by guest of honour Kevin Lau, the son of Temenggong Vincent Lau, Solid Gym Sibu’s owner Lau Kah Yii and invited judges at the end of the event.
