KUCHING: More than 1,000 people attended the Aidilfitri open house hosted by Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Dr Hazland Abang Hipni at his residence at Kesuma Resort on Tuesday (May 3).
As early as 10am, the public, especially the residents in the Demak Laut state constituency area were already showing up with their family and friends at the open house.
“Alhamdulillah, this year we can hold the Aidilfitri open house after two years of no open houses due to the movement control order (MCO).
“This is very exciting and will certainly bring happiness to relatives and residents of Demak Laut.
“Thank you to those who are present to enliven the ceremony today (Tuesday),” he added when speaking to reporters.
At the same time, Hazland who is also the Demak Laut state assemblyman disclosed he would be holding ‘Majlis Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri’ in 28 villages in his constituency starting next week.
Also present at the open house were the Sarawak Federation of Chinese Associations (SFCA) president Datuk Richard Wee and his wife, as well as other guests.
