KUCHING: The residents of Tanjung Datu are urged to back Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) to ensure continuous development in the area.
In making this call, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Tanjung Datu Youth chief Azizul Annuar Adenan said the state government is one that understands the needs and aspirations of the local people.
“The state government with PBB and GPS as its backbone knows the needs of Sarawakians as the government is made up of Sarawakian leaders,” he said.
He said this when addressing delegates during a Tautan Kasih programme in Kampung Sampadi on Saturday night.
The programme, which is part of a series, involved the Central, Women and Youth wing of PBB sub-branches in Tanjung Datu.
Among the sub-branches involved are from Kampung Sampadi, Kampung Bruan, Kampung Kangka, Sg Limo and Sg Cina.
Azizul who was representing Tanjung Datu assemblywoman Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu, said the last change in federal government, which saw Pakatan Harapan rose to power, had long lasting repercussions on Sarawak.
“In Tanjung Datu particularly, we saw the Batang Rambungan bridge project being scrapped under PH federal government. This was to the extent that it had to be taken over by the state government.
“It was GPS that ensured that the project was continued for the benefit of the people,” he said.
