KUCHING: Badminton coaching is available at Arena Sukan sports complex, Jalan Wan Alwi and the classes are conducted by experienced and qualified coaches.
The classes are conducted three times a week and those keen to enroll for these classes can choose their sessions either once a week, twice a week or three times a week.
The classes are held every Friday and Saturday with one class on Friday evening from 7 pm to 9 pm and two classes on Saturday. The Saturday classes are from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm.
The coaching classes are open for those from eight years old and above and the fee varies on the number of sessions they register for per week.
According to head coach Johnny Ng, many of the youths who had undergone coaching at Arena Sukan went on represent their schools in major tournaments.
“Some had also made it to the state team,” added the former state player.
Students who complete a continuous six months coaching will be issued ECA (extra-curricular/ co-curricular activities) card. They can submit the ECA card to their school for their ECA points.
Arena Sukan has nine badminton courts which were constructed to international standards with special rubberised flooring. This seamless rubberised flooring minimizes any joint injuries for almost any sport.
This slight cushioning effect offer players comfort and safety as it has slide and slip resistance and ideal for prolonged sporting activity. The floor is easy to clean and hygiene is assured.
