MIRI: The newly completed Bakam Point near Kampung Bakam along Miri Coastal road here will be able to generate local tourism sector to the surrounding areas, says Lambir Assemblyman Ripin Lamat.

In revealing this in Tuesday after witnessing the handing over of the Bakam Point’s key to Miri City Council (MCC) from Miri Resident he added, the RM5 million building consists of six stalls and equipped with sport facilities.

“We want Bakam Point to be part of Miri’s tourism activities,” opined Ripin.

Bakam Point is located along the Miri Coastal road.

To reach the location, it would take about 20 minutes drives from Miri city.

Bakam Point was carried out under the 11th Malaysia Plan.

The project’s masterplan was revealed by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg during his tenure as Minister of Tourism.
