KUCHING: Sebuyau folk can soon conduct their bank transactions at the new Bank Rakyat branch which will be starting operation next month.
Infrastructure and Ports Development assistant minister Datuk Julaihi Narawi said the bank will be the first one to operate in the town.
“I had the opportunity to inspect the preparations for the new Bank Rakyat building in Sebuyau on Saturday (July 17).
“I believe this bank will receive an encouraging response from traders and Sebuyau residents,” he said in a Facebook post on Sunday (July 18).
The Sebuyau assemblyman said the town is strategically located as it is along the route to the coastal road and the second trunk road.
“Sebuyau is expected to have a bright future, especially in terms of socio-economic development,” he said.
Julaihi also expressed his gratitude towards Federal Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and the management of Bank Rakyat for approving the application to open a new branch in Sebuyau.
“Thank you to Kota Samarahan Bank Rakyat manager Halmi Mosli for his support and preparatory work,” he added.
