KUCHING: Forty participants of Program Latihan Kemahiran dan Kerjaya (PLKK) successfully completed their training for Beauty and Health course and Haircut course last year.

The participants, who are youths from rural areas around Kota Samarahan, Lundu and Bau, received their certificates at a hotel here on Saturday.

The training programme was held over a ten-day intensive course, along with three months of mentoring sessions.

The PLKK was one of the programmes implemented by Giatmara Sarawak and Koperasi Belia Inovatif Sarawak (Kobis) under the auspices of the Ministry of Rural Development.

PLKK aims to improve the skills of the target group so that participants can have career opportunities or start their own business.

Present at the ceremony were senior assistant director of Giatmara Sarawak Mohamad Nazib Pabeli, assistant director for Training Division Giatmara Sarawak Rosmahwaty Adenan, manager of Giatmara Kuching Zaleha Ali and Kobis chairman Zaiwin Kassim.
