MUKAH: Twenty youth, housewives and single mothers took part in a two-day basic pattern workshop at PPKS Mukah recently.

Rozie Khan Basic Pattern Workshop aimed to improve women’s shirt making techniques and make sewing a source of income for the participants.

The workshop was jointly organised by the Mukah Parliamentary Youth Organisation and Rozie Khan Couture.

The participants learned how to make modern Kedah Kurung patterns, modern Kurung dresses and robes.

The closing ceremony and presentation of prizes ceremony were attended by Royston Valentine, chairman of the Mukah Parliamentary Youth Organisation.

Rozie Khan, instructor and owner of Rozie Khan Couture, said the workshop was the fourth to be held this year. Previous workshops were held in Dalat.

He said the next workshop would be held next year.

“I hope more youth, single mothers and housewives will take part in it and make sewing their fixed or side incomes,” added Rozie.

Royston thanked Rozie for conducting the free workshop for the people of Mukah.
