DARO: The development landscape of Daro will undergo a facelift upon the completion of the Batang Lassa Bridge which is expected to be ready in less than a month after works started in July 2019.

Daro assemblyman Safiee Ahmad said that the 2.43-kilometre long bridge has now proudly spanned across the Batang Lassa showing its original structure.

“The scenery here is very picturesque. When it is ready, residents will see the sea stretching out in front of their eyes from the top of the bridge. On the left and right of the sea, one can even see the sunset,” he told Suara Sarawak when bringing reporters to visit the site of the bridge.

Safiee said that the Daro community was fortunate to be able to enjoy economic spin-offs once the bridge, costing RM597.58 million, is completed. This is because it will further facilitate economic accessibility to Sibu, Tanjung Manis and the surrounding areas.

As a result, residents outside Daro can also visit the town of 35,000 people as it is a hub for daily economic activities besides being well-known as the icon of “ikan terubuk.”

“It’s time to come here. Trust me, you will fall in love with Daro,” he said.
