KUCHING: The Batu Kawa Mooncake, Street Food and Lantern Carnival is making a comeback after a two year lapse due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian said the carnival commenced today and will be on until Sept 11 from 6pm to 11pm.

“There are about 80 stalls serving local food. The light and lantern show is also back at Guang Loong Temple, so please do come and take photographs,” he said in a social media post.

The Batu Kawa assemblyman said there will be a lantern parade from the Batu Kawa Old Town to the Batu Kawa Riverbank Park at 7pm on Sept 10.

“It symbolises the harmony of tradition and progress, the unity of old traditional town and the new modern park. Do come and join us to have some fun with your family and the local community in Batu Kawa,” he added.
