BINTULU: The Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) is committed to playing its role “Towards A Friendly Bintulu City by 2025”.

BDA general manager Datuk Muhamad Yakup Kari stated that in conjunction with the 45th anniversary of its founding, BDA launched the official logo for the celebration and had planned up to 23 programmes and events this year.

“This is to celebrate with the residents of Bintulu the existence of BDA for 45 years based on the concept of unity, inclusivity, collaboration, economy generation, talent appreciation, and promoting sustainable development,” he said at the Media Night and logo launch on Wednesday (Jan 18) here.

He disclosed that over RM4mil had been allocated to implement various programmes in conjunction with the anniversary in the hope that residents would take advantage of the opportunity to participate because it aimed to benefit the local economy and increase the income of entrepreneurs.

At the same time, Yakup said BDA thanked media practitioners for their hard work in disseminating information and conveying people’s problems and feedback to local authorities.

“BDA hopes that the good relationship and close cooperation with the media will continue in our efforts to make Bintulu a friendly industrial city with residents having a sense of belonging and high values.”

Also present were BDA deputy chairman Datuk Haidar Khan Asghar Khan, BDA deputy general manager Abdul Rahim Abdullah, BDA secretary Wan Ibrahim Wan Ali, senior management and BDA staff.
