KUCHING: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) staff have been told to uphold their professionalism for other local councils to emulate.

Citing their exemplary work as frontliners during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian lauded their sacrifices and dedication to the community.

“In an organisation like MBKS, everyone is a leader and as leaders, you must be passionate and love the job.

“This is for the community and the community happens to be the city of Kuching. We must do our job with pride and I will support you in whatever way I can.”

Dr Sim said this during the MBKS appreciation dinner on yesterday

(Dec 12). The Sarawak Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government added that all local councils would be reviewed.

“As MBKS is the largest of 24 local councils in Sarawak, a review is needed to meet the rising expectations of the public.”
