KUCHING: Longhouse heads should be attentive to the needs of their people, said Local Government assistant minister Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil.
“I remind all to remain united in executing their duties as well as to take care of the interests of those under their care.
“I also hope that the longhouse heads will continue to be attentive to current developments, especially those pertaining to their villages,” he said in a Facebook post on Sunday (Aug 9).
Earlier on Sunday, the Marudi assemblyman attended a meeting with longhouse heads at the Beluru community hall.
During the meeting, Penguang announced a Minor Rural Project (MRP) allocation worth RM30,000 to the Beluru Longhouse Heads Association.
“I also thank all longhouse heads for their commitment, sacrifices and hard work as well as their continuous support for the state government,” he said.
The assistant minister also thanked the association for its well wishes on his 66th birthday on August 4.
“I will use this as a motivation for me to work harder in bringing more development to Marudi,” he said.
