KUCHING: The public has been urged to be cautious with fake accounts using Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s (GPS) logo and with the name ‘GPS Sarawak’ on social media.

Chief Political Secretary to the Premier Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman said this following the fake accounts making racially insensitive remarks recently.

“I urge everyone to be cautious with the presence of these accounts as it is not affiliated or recognised by GPS.

“These are gutter politics tactics employed by the opposition who are brain-dead and have no political capital to obtain the support of the people,” he said in a statement today.

The Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Supreme Council member also pointed out that the people of Sarawak, made of various races and religions in a multi-ethnic society, does not tolerate racism as well as attacks on sensitive issues pertaining to religion.

“The Sarawak government through GPS has been an inclusive government witnessed through its policies whereby everyone is accorded the rights to practice other religions and customs.

“Hence, we must reject the divisive politics that encroaches along the racial and religious lines as this would undo the efforts of past leaders and founding fathers for a harmonious Sarawak,” he said.
