MUKAH: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan advised contractors in this division to be open-minded and improve on their weaknesses and resilience in order to advance and be competitive.

According to him, a contractor’s failure to manage a project does not mean a permanent failure, but instead be used as an opportunity to improve on weaknesses in order to be successful in the future.

Awang Tengah said this when he officiated at the 8th Entrepreneur Contractors Symposium Mukah division at Kingswood Resort here, yesterday.

Some 700 entrepreneurs and contractors in the division attended the one-day symposium.

Meanwhile, E-Commerce Assistant Minister Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais said beginning this year, all projects under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) worth RM1 million and below will be withdrawn while RM1 million to RM2 million projects will be tendered at the divisional level and projects over RM2 million will be tendered at the state level.
