KUCHING: The people must be grateful that Sarawak is a peaceful state as they could continue to celebrate during any festivities.

Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth chief Gerald Rentap Jabu said unity is strength, and the people must continue to learn to respect one another and strive harder for the community’s success.

“May all our children also excel in education as that is the key to success and empowerment.  To our youths and younger generations, keep on learning and aim for the sky,” he said in his Gawai message yesterday.

Rentap, who is also Layar assemblyman said on this Gawai, may the people be blessed with a bountiful year ahead.

He also reminded the people to stay safe during these times, especially those driving and travelling to their respective destinations.

“I would like to wish all Dayaks a very Happy Gawai. Selamat Ari Gawai Besampi Ngagai Petara Kitai Idup Segulai Sejalai Besukong Betulong. Ngemansang Ka Sarawak, Gayu Guru Gerai Nyamai, Betuah Belimpah Bulih Pemandai Enggau Reta.”
