KUCHING: Repok assemblyman Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii once again urged the public to adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) of wearing face masks, practising social-physical distancing and taking care of their individual health during this Chinese New Year.

Worried because the Covid-19 pandemic is becoming more serious throughout the country he advised those who are away from home to stay put.

He also expressed his gratitude for the support of his people all this while and assured them that he would strive to get Sarikei developed.

“Sarikei is an agricultural area. Most places are rural and require the assistance of the government for development such as the construction of infrastructure and rural roads,” he said.

He promised to fulfil what he set out to do from the last state election (PRN), one of them being the construction of Sarikei-Tanjung Manis road which has been implemented.

He thanked the Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg for being concerned about the development of Sarikei especially the construction of the new road which has been long awaited by the people.
