KUCHING: The public have been reminded to fulfil their vaccination appointments under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (NCIP).
Federal Senior Minister (Infrastructure Cluster) Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said neglecting the appointment was irresponsible.
“I was informed that there are still those who do not show up even though they have been given an appointment date.
“This action is irresponsible and will ultimately slow down the country’s immunisation process. Remember, cooperation from all parties is very critical at this time.
“Therefore, I call on all of us to fulfil the appointments that have been given and be caring Malaysians,” he said in a Facebook post on Thursday (June 10).
He was commenting on the number of vaccinations completed over the last few days reported by the Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee Special Committee (JKJAV).
On June 8, 151,309 doses were administered on the day itself while on June 9, there were 154,866.
“I always follow closely the progress of the NCIP. In the last two days, namely June 8 and 9, we managed to surpass the total of 150,000 doses of vaccine injections for two consecutive days.
“This increase is an impetus and gives hope that our country will finally achieve herd immunity soon.”
Meanwhile, Fadillah assured those who yet to be called up that they would obtain their vaccine jab soon.
“For those who have not received an appointment date, don’t worry, the national vaccination dose is increasing and soon your turn will arrive.
“Continue to adhere to the standard operating procedures that have been set and stay at home if there is no need to go out.”
