KUCHING: Sarawakians who comprise various ethnicities and religious backgrounds are urged to be thankful and appreciative with the harmony in the state, thereby ensuring economic stability and better future for all.

The Premier of Sarawak who came out with the advice added our future generations needed to continue enjoying this harmonious and perhaps better surroundings that would be good for them.

“I’m also very thankful that Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) Sarawak has approved the Land Code bill, thus it gives a positive effect towards the progress of our state alongside our economy in the future,” he said during Kesyukuran Aidilfitri ceremony involving Islamic agencies at Sarawak Islamic Hall Complex on Tuesday (May 24).

The ceremony, themed ‘Suasana Hari Raya Bersyukur Atas Kemenangan’, was among the annual events held by Sarawak Islamic agencies.

Also present at the event were the Premier’s wife Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang, Minister of Tourism Creative Industry and Performing Arts cum Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship Development Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah; Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunications Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi; Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Dr Hazland Abang Hipni and Sarawak Islamic Council President Datuk Misnu Taha.
