KUCHING: Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) president Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing has urged the people of Sarawak to be wary of the enemy within them.
“The enemy within us is more destructive than the enemy from outside and that is why we must be very careful.
“You do not know who they are. They look like us, they talk like us, they behave like us.
“(To identify) our enemy, we don’t have to look (far) over the sea like Malaya. Our main enemy here is among us, within our area. So, learn and distinguish who they are because they will pretend they are a part of us, but they are not,” he said when speaking at the inaugural Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) Convention held at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here, yesterday.
Masing who is also Deputy Chief Minister cum Infrastructure and Ports Development Minister stressed that there is no one who will help Sarawak but itself.
“Do not believe that Malaya will help us. They would say they will help but they will never do. When the time comes, it is us that will give the money,” he added.
Touching on GPS development programmes, Masing stated that it was a clear manifestation of the Sarawak government’s stand.
“There is nothing from Malaya. All the money is from us (state government) and that is the money we spent for Sarawak.
“We must ensure that GPS stay together, stand together and stand firm, (so that) we will be able to defend Sarawak unless you allow ‘kapak’ ministers (describing the Pakatan Harapan ministers as enemy from within) to disunite us,” he emphasised.
