PADAWAN: The public is urged to be extra vigilant of Macau scam syndicates.

Padawan Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) chief ASP Tina Manchu said this because such fraud is operated by trained syndicate members.

“The syndicate members were trained for a month in Malaysia before they were sent to Thailand and Cambodia to deceive locals by playing their respective roles,” she said in a statement.

Apart from that, the existence of a school specifically for fraud syndicate members was confirmed by Bukit Aman CCID director Datuk Zainuddin Yaacob in a recent press conference in Kuala Lumpur.

In this regard, Tina advised the public to be very cautious of the modus operandi or ways of committing crimes by the Macau scam syndicates.

“In case anyone receives a suspicious phone call, they are to contact the nearest police station or Padawan CCID at 013-7711258 or WhatsApp to 013-2111222.

“For a review of financial fraud cases, visit the official portal at http://ccid.rmp.gov.my/semakmule/# to get the latest information,” she said.
