MIRI: A beehive the size of a football gave a man quite the scare at Marina Park City here, today.
The homeowner, who is in his 50s, was about to clean the backyard when he came across the unwelcome sight.
Miri Civil Defence Force (APM) officer Capt (PA) Usman Harto said his men were dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call around 8.55am.
Upon arrival, the homeowner informed them that the beehive was on a water filter behind the house.
Fearing for his family’s safety, he quickly called the authorities to help deal with the situation.
APM personnel destroyed the hive in less than 20 minutes.
After assessing that the situation was safe, the team went back to their operations control post.
