KUCHING: The Bekenu vaccination centre (PPV) is in need of volunteers to assist it in the vaccine rollout, said Sibuti MP Lukanisman Awang Sauni.
“I found that the Bekenu PPV still needs volunteers to help the centre. We need between 10 and 15 people. Anyone who is willing to help is highly appreciated,” he said.
The MP said this in a Facebook post today after visiting the Bekenu PPV at Bekenu community hall.
At the same time, he also presented contributions of hand sanitisers and face masks to the staff of the PPV which had only started operating on Friday.
During his visit, Lukanisman also met with village headmen and longhouse heads who informed him there are many longhouse dwellers who are getting their vaccine jab at the PPV.
With the Bekenu PPV operational, he said it now allows more vaccinations to be conducted in the Subis area.
“In the Subis area, there are three PPVs operating, namely Dewan Sepupok with a capacity of 800 people per day; Dewan Masyarakat Bekenu with a capacity of 800 per day and Klinik Ladang 3, with a capacity of 150 per day.
“With the opening of the new centre, the vaccination process in the Subis area will be expedited,” he said.
