KUCHING: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Youth (Armada) Sarawak is organising an essay writing competition for participants aged 18 to 35 years old.
“The competition is also to improve the writing skills among youths using our national language (Bahasa Melayu),” Armada Sarawak said in a statement.
“The first theme is ‘Politik Pembangunan Menjelang Pilihan Raya Negeri Sarawak Ke-12, Relevan Kah?’ while the second theme is ‘Norma Baharu, Pasca Wabak Covid-19. Bersediakah Kita?’
“The selection criteria is based on the participant’s writing skills, factual problem analysis, language style used, suggestions or ideas presented and their spellings.”
Winners stand to walk away with cash prizes and a certificate of appreciation, which will be signed by federal Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, who is also Bersatu Armada chief.
The winner walks away with RM500 while the first runner-up will get RM250.
The second runner-up will get RM100 and three consolation prize winners will get RM50 each. All winners will also get a certificate of appreciation.
Participation is free and the closing date is March 20.
