Betong Vocational College ranks third in graduates’ marketability

BETONG: The Betong Vocational College has ranked third out of all vocational colleges in Malaysia in the marketability of graduates 2020 category.

The Graduate Marketability Report 2020 released by the Education Ministry (MOE) on February 16, listed 130 out of 140 Betong graduates from the 2016 to 2020 series have been employed.

This affirmed Betong Vocational College as the best college in the marketability of graduates in Sarawak.

Top in Malaysia is Kluang Vocational College with 190 out of 194 graduates employed.

Second is Kolej Vokasional Agriculture Chenor with 96 of its 103 graduates employed.

Sarawak Vocational College Graduate Tracking Study coordinator and head coach Sangin Juat said, this showed that vocational college graduates are starting to get a place in the industry.

“In addition, the opportunity to further their studies to degree level is also wide open.

“Therefore, parents do not have to worry about sending their children to vocational colleges,” he said on Sunday (Feb 21).

Based on the Graduate Tracking Study by the Psychology and Career Unit of Betong Vocational College, the field of electrical technology contributed the highest record of marketability of its graduates where 22 were employed, followed by the fields of construction technology (20), culinary arts (19) and welding technology (19).

Of the nine fields offered at the college, seven achieved 100 percent marketability of graduates namely accounting, electrical technology, electronics, construction, industrial machining, automotive and culinary arts.
