BAU: Some 1,000 bikers from various associations attended the Bau Bikers Gathering 2019 held in conjunction with the Tasik Biru Festival yesterday.

Present to officiate at the bike gathering was Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep.

According to Sarawak Motorcycle Association (Sama) president Datin Seri Elly Zalilah, some bikers rode all the way from Kuching to take part in the event.

“We believe that bike gatherings like this not only serve as a platform to gather the bikers but also foster closer ties among the races,” she said during the launch of its fourth edition yesterday.

On future international-level bike events in Bau, Elly, who is also the Iron Tiger Bikers Club Kuching president, said the association will look into suggestions for further consideration.

“We are going to have the biggest bike gathering, which is the Kuching International Bike Week (KIBW), in Kuching Waterfront on July, next year,” she said.

“We are holding it on that particular month to attract more tourists, so they can come and enjoy both events,” she said.
