MIRI: A 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed while his wife suffered serious injuries in an accident at a junction near Miri Crocodile Farm in Kuala Baram here around 8pm on Monday.
Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said Martin Jerom Nelson Cevin and his 22-year-old wife Dorina Dawi were heading home from their workplace in the city centre when their motorcycle collided with another vehicle.
The impact of the collision has caused Martin, a lorry assistant driver, to suffer injuries to his head.
Dorina, who worked as a waitress at an eatery, was rushed to Miri Hospital.
Alexson added that the case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
