KUCHING: A farmer aged 59 is in critical condition after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car when he was about to switch lane at Km42, Jalan Kuching-Serian at 9.15am yesterday.
The car was heading to Kuching when the motorcycle collided into it. The impact of the collision caused the motorcycle and rider to land on the bonnet of the car causing it to be badly damaged.
State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Alexon Naga Chabu confirmed that after the collision, the motorcyclist from Kpg Turong, Samarahan was taken to Serian Hospital.
However, he was later transferred to the Sarawak General Hospital after his condition worsened.
The motorcyclist’s father aged 73 who was riding pillion sustained only minor injuries.
The car driver, a retired soldier was unhurt.
The accident is being investigated under Section 43 of the Road Traffic Act, 1987.
