KUCHING: The Sarawak government is expected to table a Bill to amend the Sarawak Land Code in the coming state assembly sitting.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg the state cabinet has agreed in principle on the amendment to the land code.
However, he could not disclose further details.
“I can’t announce it now… but basically it is to strengthen our rights in few areas on land issues,” he told reporters at his Hari Raya Open House at Pullman Hotel today “Let’s wait for the sitting (to know more detail on the amendment) We will wait the sitting,” he said.
Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud will officiate at the eight-day DUN Sitting from May 17 to 26.
