KUCHING: The 3rd Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East Asean Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Conference will be held here on March 8-9 next year.

Some 300 delegates from Malaysia, the Philippines, Brunei and Indonesia are expected to attend.

Sarawak Skills Group of Learning Institutions (Sarawak Skills) executive director Hallman Sabri said the conference would be jointly organised by the Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD) with its theme, ‘TVET to Drive Innovation and Talent Development’.

Hallman, who is also the Federation of Malaysian Skills Development Centres (FMSDC) chairman, emphasised that the conference would bring together under one roof major stakeholders contributing to the ongoing transformation of TVET.

He said speakers from the industry, government and academia would share their perspectives on various topics under four sub-themes.

“The four sub-themes are Innovation and Technology, Human Resource Management and the Way Forward, Green TVET and Strengthening Partnerships among BIMP-EAGA TVET and higher education institutions.
