Bintulu cops arrest three persons, seize syabu

BINTULU: Narcotics police here arrested three individuals and seized drugs believed to be syabu at separate locations on Monday (June 13).

Bintulu OCPD Supt Batholomew Umpit said the suspects, aged between 33 and 58, were arrested in Jalan Sommerville and Jalan Tanjung Kidurong.

Drugs believed to be syabu weighing 1.8g were also seized from two of the suspects.

“Both will be investigated under Section 12 (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries a jail term of up to five years and a fine of up to RM100,000, if convicted.

“All three suspects also tested positive for drugs and will be investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.”

The public are advised to continue channelling any information related to drug activities in the district to the police at 086-318304.
