BINTULU: The District Office here is urged to resolve the misunderstanding among the residents of the longhouses in Sungai Binyo.

Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, who made this call, said he met with 22 longhouse heads around the area on Tuesday (April 26) and Wednesday (April 27) and found that some longhouses had split due to differences of opinion among residents.

“Some parts of the longhouse are divided into two and some are divided into three,” he said on social media on Thursday (April 28).

Tiong said such a situation would make it difficult for relevant parties to update the information and details of the occupants of the longhouses and may affect their future.

He also reminded community leaders and district officials to always be active in dealing with disputes and problems that arise in longhouses.

“Any problems that arise must be resolved immediately so that the situation does not become worse.”
