BINTULU: The Bintulu Division Land and Survey Department (JTS) is now a five-star department – as far as workplace security is concerned.

It achieved the rating – the highest award for Security Protection Special Award (AKKP) – from the Chief Government Security Office (CGSO) in the Prime Minister’s Department in Putrajaya on Thursday (June 9).

The award was presented by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Datuk Seri Mohd Zuki Ali, in conjunction with the National-level Security Protection Convention 2022.

Themed ‘Security Protection is the Catalyst of the National Digital Revolution’, the award’s objective is to strengthen the capacity and capability of government agencies to provide secure, reliable and trustworthy workplace environments.

One hundred and seventy-seven other government agencies participated in the award. A total of 79 government agencies achieved the Excellent (Five Stars) level in the 2021 National AKKP.

JTS said the award was introduced to increase the commitment of heads of departments and departmental security officers to be consistent in providing, implementing and enforcing top-level security protection.

This is the second time JTS Sarawak had achieved five-star rating following a similar award in 2016.

“The award will encourage JTS to improve and ensure the safety of the department in terms of a conducive, safe and healthy work environment and healthy, productive and innovative employees,” the department said.
