KUCHING: The media continues to play a vital role and remains as the bridge of information between the public and the corporate sector in the state.

Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad (BPHB) chief executive officer Datuk Abdullah Medan said in the context of an organisation, the role of the media helps in spreading information on the day to day business, in which indirectly improves the company’s reputation.

Medan speaking at the media event.

“I am confident that our media practitioners will always ensure news is relevant and precise, especially on a company’s business activities.

“Bintulu Port continues to be a catalyst  in the industry and hopes to contribute to the success of the socio-economic development of Sarawak and Malaysia,” he said in his speech at a media appreciation event hosted by BPHB at a hotel here, last night (Dec 15).

He assured that Bintulu Port will further enhance its ties with media personnel across Sarawak.

“No one should deny the role of media practitioners because media has played a significant role in the development and modernisation of the country,” he said.
