BINTULU: Two more vaccination centres will be set up here namely at the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) auditorium and BDA Sports Centre in Tanjung Kidurong to accelerate the Bintulu Covid-19 immunisation programme.

According to Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, the vaccination centre at the BDA auditorium is specifically for traders and hawkers (including their family members) at Pasar Utama Bintulu, Bintulu Night Market as well as Pasar Tamu Bintulu while the one at BDA Sports Centre is for residents in Sungai Plan and RPR Kidurong Phase 1 to Phase 5 areas.

So far, Bintulu has four vaccination centres, namely at Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus, Dinner World Bintulu, Tatau Sports Hall and at Sebauh Multipurpose Hall.

Tiong, who is also the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy to the People’s Republic of China, advised vaccine recipients not to come to the centres too early to avoid congestion.

“The amount of vaccine is sufficient, hence recipients are encouraged to be present only about 30 minutes before their appointment.

“I hope that all residents can work together with the staff at the centres so that the vaccination process runs smoothly,” he said.
