MIRI: The Kelab Pencinta Burung Kicau Miri will be hosting a bird singing contest this coming July 28.

The event hopes to rope in participants not only from Miri or Sarawak, but also from Brunei, Sabah and Kalimantan.

The venue for this year’s event is expected to be held at the Permyjaya Giant’s car park area. In previous years, the event was held in Lutong.

There will be nine categories and winners will receive cash prizes, trophies, and certificates.

Those who are interested or wish to know more can contact Faiz at 011-31829795.

Recently, the club’s chairman Mohamad Azahar Bujang handed over 50 applications from its members for licence to keep birds (native birds) as their pets to the Forest Department.
