BKSS aid for school bus operators by July-end

KUCHING: The first batch of payment for the Bantuan Khas Sarawakku Sayang 3.0 (BKSS 3.0)’s one-off RM600 financial assistance to school bus and van operators will be done latest by the end of this month.

Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin said the ministry received 408 applications during the first phase of application (June 3 to 18) where 384 of them were approved upon checking and validation by the Sarawak Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB).

“Of the 384 eligible recipients, 162 are from Kuching, 99 from Miri, 52 from Bintulu, 22 from Samarahan, 21 from Sibu, 13 from Limbang, nine from Serian, four from Sarikei and two from Kapit.

“First batch of the one-off financial assistance will be banked-in directly to the recipients’ respective registered bank accounts latest by the end of this month,” he said in a statement.

To date, there are 739 active school bus and van operators who are registered with the Sarawak CVLB.

For other eligible school bus and van operators who have not yet applied for the one-off assistance, they are advised to go to the ministry’s website at https://mot.sarawak.gov.my/ and to register directly using the application form (Google Form), or go to the nearest Resident Offices.

All registered school bus and van operators/drivers that have not submitted their applications are advised to do so online on or before July 31, 2020.
