KUCHING: A non-permanent structure was completely destroyed in a blaze. However, no one was harmed or injured in the fire incident.
The Operation Centre of the State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said in a stament that the incident reportedly occurred at 12.49pm today. It said a fire engulfed a structure, said to be non-permanent.
The emergency call was received through a MERS999 and firemen from Batu Lintang were despatched to the incident location at Lorong Kedandi 11A, Tabuan Dusun, here.
“Reports from the operation commander stated that it was a 20X40 non-permanent structure, which was a prayer area that was on fire.
“The structure was completely destroyed by the fire and collapsed, but, no one was injured during the fire incident, as the location was separated from residential area,” said the statement.
Firemen were able to extinguish and control the fire. Subsequently, the operation ended at 2.02pm that day.
