KUCHING: Two residents were made homeless after their wooden house at Lorong Cenderawasih 4A, Petra Jaya, was engulfed by flames this morning.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported among them as they managed to get out to safety in the 9.25am blaze.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department said firemen from Petra Jaya station were despatched to the scene after being alerted of the incident.
On arrival, they found that the blaze involved three houses where, one was completely destroyed and the other two were partly damaged.
The extinguishing deed was promptly performed with water from a fire hydrant nearby.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team concluded the operation at around 10.20 am.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred is still under investigation.
