KUCHING: Sports can offer much more than mere athletic enjoyment as it provides an opportunity to explore the city along with its amenities and welcoming people.

Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Gerald Rentap, highlighted that Kuching represents a venue to showcase the unity and prosperity of its community.

“Furthermore, we aim to highlight our local food and beverages, and I’m confident that visitors will find many more attractions to enjoy here.

“We are eager to facilitate more tournaments in the future,” he said during the welcoming dinner for the Invitational Tennis Championship, the Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah Cup, held at the Grand Margherita Hotel on Friday.

Rentap was present on behalf of the Minister for Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

“I wish to extend my congratulations to the Sarawak Lawn Tennis Association (SLTA) not only for hosting the Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah Cup Invitational Tennis Championship but also for celebrating their 60th anniversary,” he added.
