Blood O and B types needed

KUCHING: The Blood Bank of Sarawak General Hospital (TDHUS) is facing a shortage of Blood O and B types. The shortage is caused by the increase in cases using the two blood types.

The public especially blood donors are urged to come forward to donate their blood at TDHUS or during mobile blood donation campaigns held nearest them.

For Muslims who are fasting, they can donate their blood until 9am only.

The Blood Bank of Sarawak General Hospital will be open from 7.30am until 4 pm during the fasting month of Ramadan to give the opportunity to Muslim donors to donate their blood.

During the coming weekend the mobile blood donation campaign will be held at the following locations:-

1. 26 May (Sat) Lodge School, Jalan Tabuan Jaya from 8.30 am to 10.30 am.

2. 26 May (Sat) SMK Chung Hua No1, Jalan Pending from 9am to 1pm.

3. 27 May (Sun) CityONE Megamall, Jalan Song from 9am to 2.30pm.

4. 27 May (Sun) Boulevard Shopping Mall Level 1 New Wing from 10am to 3pm.

The cooperation of all parties is needed to ensure that blood supply is always adequate for use by Sarawak General Hospital in its daily operations.
